If you have an extra day in Krabi and you are looking to experience something unique and at a cheap price, then a half-day Jungle trip is an experience that you shouldn’t miss. This half-day trip is not as well known as other day trip excursions, which is actually what makes this trip even more special. I also tried this day trip as I’ve got an extra day and thought, why not? I booked this trip for 1550 Baht (around 45 USD), but considering what we get in the day trip is worth each penny. This price includes pick-up and drop-off from your hotel, lunch, snacks, and entry tickets to all attractions that we visited.

Booking the Trip

You can book this Jungle trip from various shops in Krabi, but I booked it online from Klook.com. Its easy, and they have a lot of deals, so prices and packages may vary depending on where you book.

Starting the Day Trip

The trip starts around 8AM. Our group was small, just six people, which added to the comfort and exclusive feel of the trip. I think the reason why the group is so small is that not many people know about this trip or do not give importance to this trip. Well, our first stop was at Emarald Pool, from an hour drive from Ao Nang, Krabi. The journey there is an adventure itself. To reach the pool, you have to walk through the lush, dense tropical rainforests.

it takes 20 to 25 minutes to reach Emarald pool through this beautiful rainforest.

Upon arrival, you have two options to reach the Emarald pool, one is a road path, and the second is a paved walkway through the jungle. Both of them required a bit of walking, but I recommend you take the jungle path. This 20 minute walk to the pool is a delight in itself, you will hear the sound of the birds and glimpse of the beautiful creatures on the way.

you will fill find lot of jungle creatures on the way to the pool.

The Emarald pool

The Emerald Pool is a wonder—a vibrant green pool filled with warm, mineral rich waters from underground springs. Swimming in the pool is not just exciting but believed to have lot of health benefits due to the minerals in the water. The greenish color of the water is because of the high mineral content, and it is said that it helps with everything from skin conditions to your muscle aches.

The wonderful Blue Pool

Next, on the 15-minute walk from Emerald pool, we reached the Blue pool, which is even more beautiful and stunning. The pool is blue because of the high concentration of calcium carbonate in the water, it looks like your are on another planet. But as it is so beautiful and believed to have so much healing properties but swimming in this pool is not allowed due to preserve the eco system.

Our last stop was the hot steam water baths, a 30-minute drive from Emarald pool. Nestled in the forest, this place is surely a hidden gem, we all of them in the group not expecting this place to be that beautiful. The source of these baths are natural thermal springs, which are beautifully divided into three different open air pools. Each pool has a different temperature, the hottest one is marked as red, which is around 40 degrees; the medium is marked as orange, which is about 37 to 38 degrees; and the coolest one is marked in green, which is just normal water.
