But the most easy and convenient way of visa is visa on arrival.
And when it comes to the Maldives, this country offers visa on arrival to almost all the nationals, which makes it convenient and accessible destination in the world, but with some easy and basic conditions. Read till the end to ensure hassle free entry into the beautiful land of the Maldives.
Register yourself on Imuga
When you get your air tickets, book your hotel in the Maldives, then before departing, you must need to register your travel declaration on this website https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/ . This is the Maldives government official immigration website. by going onto this website you have to fill the following simple details, within 96 hours to the flight time:
- You have to enter your passport details, i.e. Passport number, date of passport expiry, and and your date of birth and your passport validity must be more then 6 months on the date of arrival
- Your accommodation proof in the Maldives, which can be in the form of a hotel booking, and it must be in the approved hotels which you can find on the website as well.
- You must have a return flight, and you have to enter flight details like the flight number etc.
- If you are from yellow fever endemic countries you must have Yellow fever vaccination certificate (yellow fever country list is also available on the Imuga or Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs website).
These are some basic details which you have to enter on this website and that’s it, You are ready to enter into the country. and when you submit it you will immediately get a confirmation PDF, which you have to later show to the immigration officer at the airport. And one more thing you have to fill this form on this website not only when you are going to the Maldives but also before leaving the country. You have to fill out basic information on this website.
So, along with registering on https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/ this website you must have a return air ticket and confirm hotel booking. Then to majority of the countries, the Maldives gives 30 days visa on arrival and for some its 60 days, and even up to 90 days for few countries as well. So for that you can check for your country.
Other than this, immigration officers may ask you questions like:
What is your occupation?
Why are you traveling?
How much money do you have?
Just simple and easy questions, but that is not necessary as they do not ask these to everyone.
